History

1914.06 Masashi Nakata established Japan’s first company to build machinery for the rubber manufacturing industry.
1944.10 Nakata Zoki Co., Ltd. was established.
1949.09 After achieving a reputation for excellent products based on a time-honored tradition of craftsmanship, making Nakata a supplier for nearly all domestic rubber companies, the company began exporting overseas, to India, Pakistan, Southeast Asia, East Africa, Australia and New Zealand. For its role in advancing Japan’s production machinery exports, Nakata received an award from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in recognition of our efforts.
1967.09 To achieve future growth, the company reorganized, with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. participating in the management.
1969.06 The company entered into a technical license agreement with Paul Troester Maschinen-Fabriken of Germany concerning cold feed type and vent type extruders, and continuous vulcanization equipment.
1972.09 The company became an affiliate of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. following the transfer of shares from Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.
1981.06 The technical license agreement with Paul Troester Maschinen-Fabriken was revised to include manufacture and sales of shear head roller-head units and calenders with interchangeable roller-sleeves for roller-heads.
1983.06 Entered into a patent license agreement with Uniroyal Englebert Reifen GmbH of Germany concerning pin type extruders; also entered a license agreement with Paul Troester Maschinen-Fabriken for production and sales of pin type extruders.
1995.01 The main production system was moved to Nishi-ku, Kobe, due to damage resulting from the great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
1996.04 Kobe Machinery Co., Ltd. was merged into the company and the corporate name was changed to Nakata Engineering Co., Ltd.
2002.05 ISO9001 (Quality Management System) certification attained
2002.07 A production & sales agreement for gear pumps & gear extruders was made with Paul Troester of Germany
2004.12 ISO14001 certification attained
2008.09 Suzhou Nakata Engineering Co., Ltd. established in China.
2009.09 Suzhou Nakata Engineering No.2 factory in operation.
2014.06 The 100th Anniversary.
2017.11 Received letter of appreciation for the great result of our VA proposal from Bridgestone.
2019.02 Exceeded 750 multiplex extruders supplied
2019.03 Registered with Ecovadis, an external certification body, from the perspective of CSR
2020.09 Exceeded 1,000 Roller head units supplied.
2021.12 Rated as a silver rank company by Ecovadis and it’s on going.
